HORN OF PLENTY
Horn of Plenty is for all levels. The book is structured like this:
Listen to Eric Vloeimans and play with him.
Play the melody yourself here with piano accompaniment.
Play the melody here, Eric Vloeimans accompanies you with a second voice.
Track 4: Variation No. 1
Track 5: Variation No. 2
Track 4 and 5 give variations to the melody of track 1. The second variation is in most cases a bit more difficult than the first one.
This method is perfect for students, but also for teachers!
Horn of Plenty is the second play along book by trumpeter and composer Eric Vloeimans (1963). Holland's most famous trumpet player.
His work is characterised by melodic and lyrical power, and a characteristic, individual sound that is called velvety or whispering in the more subdued pieces.

The book contains 55 accompanied audio tracks and sheet music of 11 of his own compositions with variations, for trumpet and clarinet, flute and oboe or alto saxophone. For inspiration all tracks are played by himself, the piano part by Sjoerd van Eijck. Eric's compositions are characterised by a surprising simplicity that allows them to be played by both beginning and more advanced musicians. Frank van der Poel has been the solo trumpeter of the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy since 1980. With this orchestra Frank performed successfully the Trumpet Concertos of Haydn and Hummel, not only in the Netherlands, but also in Norway, Germany and Switzerland.
